Use Cases: A Story of Four Tablets
A few months ago I looked at my desk and realized that I had acquired four different tablets all about the same size. I challenged myself to decide which was my favorite and which I would recommend to someone else.
As I have thought about this, I realize that the lesson behind the task is about understanding use cases. How I will use a tablet determines which is the right tool for the job.
The four tablets in question include:
Microsoft Surface Go
This tablet I bought about 2 years ago. It was the first generation, top-of the line model of the 10.5" Surface line. The tablet has a built-in kickstand, runs Windows OS and can be supplemented with an optional keyboard.
My first case was a traditional portfolio-type table case that provided protection for the tablet, and unfolded to allow it to be used. I later replaced this with a rubber case that provided protection for the tablet much like a phone case. Since the keyboard folds up, that provides protection for the screen. I like this arrangement much better, especially if I want to remove the keyboard and just use the tablet.
